Juvenile accounts can be opened for members under 16 by a parent/legal guardian or at the request of a child from age 7 (Parent/Guardian consent required). The table below provides guidance on completing the Juvenile Membership Form.

Age Completing the Juvenile Membership Application Form
0 - 6 Parent/Guardian completes the application form.
7 Onward

 

Both the Parent/Guardian and Juvenile must sign Section 4 of the application form.

If the child is under 12, Section 3 must be signed by the parent(s)/guardian(s) who have been authorised on the account.

The following documentation is required to begin an application:

Child Parent(s) / Guardian(s)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport (where available)
  • Verification of the child’s PPSN (Dept of Social Protection Correspondence)
  • Photo ID
  • Proof of Address (The home address provided must be the permanent residence of the child)

Note – Photo ID/Proof of Address is required for both parent(s)/guardian(s) where both are authorised to transact.

Photo ID

  • Passport
  • Driver’s License
  • National Identity Card

Address Verification (within 6 mths)

  • Correspondence from a Government Body/Department
  • Correspondence from a Regulated Financial Institution
  • Utility Bill

Age Withdrawal Authorisation
0 - 6 Parent/Guardian has sole authorisation for withdrawals.
7 - 11 Withdrawal authorisation is shared between the Parent/Guardian and Juvenile, requiring both parties' signatures for all withdrawals.
12 Onward Juvenile has full control over withdrawals and account management.
  • All funds lodged to a child’s account are the sole property of the child and all withdrawals must be for the benefit of the child.
  • Online Access is not available for Juvenile Accounts.
